What is Love Lies Bleeding about?

Serving as Glass’ second collaboration with A24 following her 2019 horror Saint Maud, Love Lies Bleeding — described as an electric new love story — follows the budding romance between rising bodybuilder Jackie and introverted gym manager Lou. However, their love will soon ignite unforeseen circumstances when they get involved in some of Lou’s family’s criminal activities.

“The film centers around a reclusive gym manager Lou who falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream,” the synopsis reads. “But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.”

Love Lies Bleeding stars Stewart as Lou Langston, O’Brian as Jackie Cleaver, Jena Malone as Beth Langston, Ed Harris as Lou Langston Sr., Dave Franco as J.J., and Anna Baryshnikov as Daisy. The film is produced by Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman, with  Daniel Battsek, David Kimbangi, Susan Kirr, and Ollie Madden serving as executive producers.
